About Us

A scenic view of the golf course at Willow Wood Country Club.
A scenic view of the golf course at Willow Wood Country Club.

Golfers who have played Willow Wood Country Club once tend to come back. Sitting along the Greenbrier River in Hinton, the course delivers something increasingly rare in the sport: a layout that challenges you without punishing your wallet. Greens fees stay genuinely reasonable, the course stays genuinely well-maintained, and the staff stays genuinely glad to see you.

The holes run beside one of West Virginia's most scenic waterways, so even a rough back nine comes with a view worth the trip. Tournaments roll through in the summer months, casual rounds fill the weekdays, and the bar and dining options mean the day doesn't have to end at the 18th hole.

Willow Wood isn't trying to be a resort destination. It's a Hinton institution where locals and out-of-towners land on the same page fast: this is exactly what a golf course should feel like.

What We Offer

Willow Wood Country Club covers the full range of what a day on the course actually needs. Tee times are available for solo players, foursomes, and organized tournament groups, with competitive greens fees that make a mid-week round an easy decision rather than a budget debate.

Beyond the fairways, the clubhouse bar pours cold drinks after a hot round, and the restaurant keeps things satisfying whether you're fueling up before the first tee or celebrating a low score after the last. Lodging options make a weekend golf trip from outside the area entirely doable without booking a separate hotel.

The club also hosts organized tournaments throughout the season, giving competitive players a structured event and casual players a reason to mark the calendar. Athletic fields and activity spaces round out the property for members who want more than just 18 holes.

"This is what a small-time golf course is supposed to be: inexpensive, moderately challenging, and FUN. Tack on to that the fact that people that work here are so nice and you've got a winner. You can tell they have been working hard to get the course up to shape and even this early in the season after a heavy rain, there was not a hole that was unplayable. The groundskeepers are doing a fantastic job especially on the greens, which—while a little spongier than a championship course's greens—all were flawless surfaces without any bare spots and the ball rolled true on all nine! Dude, I was here on a weekday morning, was the only golfer on the course, and played 9 holes for EIGHT DOLLARS. You simply are never going to find value like that anywhere. Is it the quality of Augusta or Pebble Beach? Nope. But the scenery (it goes along the gorgeous Greenbrier river), friendliness of the staff, and plain ol' fun factor make this a MUST PLAY if you are in Southern WV and need your golf fix."

"Too expensive to play and get a golf cart that barely worked and turn the sprinklers on us after saying it cost to much is very nice"
